More 20 years of fossil collecting...
After shells , came the passion for Fossils. My collection is composed of many and rare fossils from Portugal, discovered and prepared by me. Over more than 20 years, I have been gathering an extraordinary paleontological collection from the periods (Jurassic, Cretaceous, Miocene), particularly the Upper Jurassic and Miocene. Some of these rare fossils are Dinosaurs and magnificent Sea Urchins. With time and some knowledge, I became an expert on Dinosaur fossils from the Upper Jurassic period.

Occurrence of fossils in Portugal
It is very evident that in almost all regions of Portugal, particularly along the coastline many of the best fossiliferous outcrops are becoming less accessible to fossil collect. Some of these fossiliferous outcrops have simply disappeared...
Urban expansion has contributed a lot to this fact, particularly along the marine coast and on the outskirts of big cities. The negligence of non-preservation of these site is a serious problem that has contributed a lot to the gradual disappearance of these fossiliferous outcrops. The rapid erosion of "Arriba Fossil" on some coastal cliffs, derived from atmospheric conditions increasingly adverse, has also systematically aggravated this loss in a definitive way of the fragile and irreplaceable paleontological heritage.
It is increasingly difficult to find good fossils in Portugal. Many species have become almost impossible to collect again. Currently many of these rare and beautiful fossils are only possible to be seen in older private collections, or in museums.
